Become Part of the Home Job Group Without Buying a Google Work at Home Kit

There is an odd trend going on with telecommuting and online business jobs these days. The trend could most easily be classified as the "kit." When you search for online jobs using a standard search engine like Google, work from home kits will undoubtedly fill the results page. But the truth is, it is ridiculous to think that you need to purchase a "kit" to become part of the home job group.

Consider this: when you look online for a normal, run of the mill office job, do you purchase a "kit" to do so? Do they sell "kits" on Career Builder, Monster, or when you look at your local paper? No. Of course not. You simply look in online data banks, job boards, newspaper classifieds, or you research a company that you're interested in working for and see whether or not they have open positions.

You do not go to Staples and purchase Jane Doe's "guaranteed job kit." So why do people think they need one when searching for an online job? Well, the answer is obvious. Online jobs have only recently gained popularity. It's only been within the last year or two that the reality of being part of a home job group has been an option. Since it's such a new field, people simply aren't sure how to go about getting a telecommuting job, or starting their own online business. And that's when they fall for a Google work from home kit.

People simply want guidance - most, if not all, of their friends and relatives work traditional day jobs away from home. So they are unable to turn to the people they generally turn to for advice or help. And when you can't get answers from those around you, where do you go? The Internet. And that's where you become overwhelmed with the websites claiming to sell you a "kit" that will do one of three things: get you access to online jobs, make you part of a "proven" successful Internet company, or teach you to successfully run your own Internet business.

Nine times out of ten you can make the easy assumption that most of these "kits" are charging you fairly exorbitant prices for information you could find for free using the same Internet that brought you to them. The best bet you can make toward saving yourself - and to actually becoming a real part of the home job group - is to research companies that hire telecommuters.

Until a reliable, nationally recognized website dedicated to the posting of online jobs becomes available, then we have to be adults and take charge of the job search ourselves. Think of it this way - even if there was such a thing as a Google work from home kit that would help you find your dream job, how would you even know which one to be unless you had researched the industry, or at least that kit? It's not as though there is only one kit - there are potentially hundreds out there. So do yourself a favor: ignore the kits and do the research yourself.
